The Grand Palms Resort

The project involved three parallel design challenges: creating an architecture that respected the site's existing coconut grove and coastal ecology; designing a resort identity that would feel authentically Goan while meeting international luxury standards; and coordinating a highly complex programme — 96 rooms, five F&B outlets, three pools, a spa, and event facilities — across a 1.2-hectare site.

All structures were kept below the canopy of the existing tree cover, using a dispersed villa typology that minimises ground disturbance. Local materials — laterite stone, terracotta, hand-woven textiles — were deployed throughout, sourced from Goa and southern Maharashtra. Each of the five F&B outlets was conceived as a distinct experience, ranging from an all-day café to an intimate chef's table carved into the hillside.
